Northborne is seeking an Associate to join our rapidly growing M&A practice in Minneapolis. Our Associates play a critical role in every aspect of the transaction process from initial pitch through closing, including interacting closely with senior bankers and clients’ senior executives, engaging with potential buyers, preparing valuations, writing pitch and marketing materials, and facilitating due diligence. Responsibilities
- Managing and assisting in the preparation of pitch and marketing presentations
- Preparing, analyzing, and explaining historical and projected financial information
- Leading and overseeing the preparation of financial models and business valuations
- Conducting industry and company-specific research and due diligence
- Identifying potential strategic and financial (e.g., private equity) buyers for our clients
- Managing and supporting the due diligence process of buyers, including managing online data rooms
- Interacting with clients regularly, including attending client meetings
- Assisting in the development of client, prospective client, and professional advisor relationships
- Assisting in the management and mentoring of Analysts
- Participating in the overall growth and culture of the firm

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (finance, accounting, business or economics major preferred)
- 1 – 2 years of investment banking experience at the associate level OR 3 years of investment banking, private equity or transaction advisory experience with a focus on M&A
- Financial modeling experience, including DCF, LBO, bottom-up revenue builds, and 3-statement models
- Knowledge of general accounting and finance principles
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and conceptual skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent writing, verbal communication, and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced and intellectually challenging environment
- Candidates must be able to work well under pressure, handle multiple projects at once and learn quickly
- FINRA Licenses - Series 63, Series 79, SIE (preferred)
