What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Northbridge Public Schools?
The Lower Rise Teacher will deliver specialized instruction and support to students ages 3-5 years old using behavioral and ABA methodologies. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing data-driven lesson plans, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with parents, colleagues, and related service providers to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet individual student needs.The Teacher shall: 1. Apply appropriate knowledge to curriculum content/instruction (including behavioral and ABA approach to instruction), plan lessons and align assessment of student learning, monitors students' understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments, using data-driven techniques2. Collaborate with the Special Education Department Head/Team Chairperson, related service providers, and parents/guardians to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) addressing students needs3.
Instruct students in basic foundation and living skills appropriate to functioning level, age, and school community4. Function as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide an integrated approach to therapy5. Collaborate with related services providers to coordinate the program needs of assigned students, and to ensure that accommodations and modifications are made in the general curriculum and school environment6. Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives, including leading small-group sessions with students7.
Provide continuous progress monitoring of student growth using data and assessments to support data collection for purposes of progress reports and placement 8. Analyze individual student data and use that information to develop measurable goals and objectives and corresponding lessons 9. Collaborate as needed with community agencies to ensure appropriate programming and coordination10. Integrate specialized equipment such as audio-visual materials, computers, and adaptive equipment.11.
Proactively communicate with teacher colleagues and school administrators regarding the academic program, requirements, progress, and status of each student12. Engage in consistent two-way communication with the parents/guardians to keep them apprised of student progress and gather feedback and information to support student learning and well-being13. Collaborate with the BCBA to develop and implement behavior support plans in collaboration with the BCBA as well as monitor Instructional Assistants conducting such plans14. Create a daily schedule/lesson plans incorporating Instructional Assistants 15.
Plan and supervise Instructional Assistants in day-to-day instruction and data collection methods 16. Prepare materials to be used during the students Extended School Year (ESY)17. Participate in all required professional development events18. Participate in all required school meetings, which are held for the purpose of improving both curricula and extracurricular activities19.
Maintain appropriate DESE licensure20. Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and/or Early ChildhoodCoordinator.
