NorthCare is seeking a proactive Activities Coordinator to design and implement engaging activity programs for residents with Alzheimer's, Dementia, or other aging-related conditions. The aim is to enhance residents' sense of self-worth, expression, and accomplishment.
**Qualifications:**
- Experience with craft materials for individuals with physical or mental disabilities
- Skills to manage group, individual, and independent activity programs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear criminal history check with no federal fraud felonies
- Minimum one-year experience in elderly care
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work well with diverse populations and handle stressful situations calmly
**Responsibilities:**
- Plan and execute activities within a set weekly schedule
- Interact directly with residents and coordinate with management
- Organize volunteers, community/family events, and resident outings
- Conduct and update resident evaluations regularly
- Manage and adhere to the monthly activity budget, following NorthCare's reimbursement policy
- Ensure proper use and documentation of activity supplies and resident projects
- Maintain accurate activity documentation and participation records
- Ensure activities respect residents' rights and do not interfere with their care or meal schedules
- Set up and clean activity areas, involving residents as appropriate
