Description
Resident Assistants (RAs) are student employees of the College who function as advocates for both the administration and the residential students.
150 bi weekly pay stipend
100% housing coverage for the Fall, ISP, and Spring 25-26 academic year
100% bronze meal plan coverage for the Fall, ISP, and Spring 25-26 academic year
Average of 20 hours per week
Examples of Duties
Peer-to-Peer Support : Live on campus within the residential community and act as an approachable, welcoming initial point of contact for residents by providing individual assistance and support through frequent intentional communications, check-ins and other interactions.
Engagement & Retention : Promote student engagement and retention within the residential community by helping connect residents to various campus partners and academic resources. Create a sense of belonging and foster a positive atmosphere within the residential community through planning and hosting monthly community events.
Policy Education & Enforcements : Ensure adherence to NCF Housing & Residential Life policies by promoting a safe, responsible living environment for all residents through proactive educational conversations, and proper documentation of violations with professional staff or campus partners.
Attend and actively participate in scheduled training sessions
Attend and actively participate in health & safety checks and end of semester hall closing procedures
Attend and actively participate in weekly team meetings and weekly supervisor check in meetings
Develop, promote, and host approximately 3 community events for your assigned community each semester
Collaborate with other RA's and professional staff to host at least 1 campus wide community event each semester
Monitor & maintain a bulletin board in your assigned community ensuring accurate, up to date information is present
Serve on call on the RA duty rotation throughout the academic year (fall, ISP, & spring terms) approximately 1-2 times per week (weekday and weekends)
Respond to all RA Duty phone calls, complete community rounds, respond to lockouts and emergency situations, and communicate with professional staff members as needed
General Duty Shift Times : Weekdays 5pm-8am (next day) and Weekends 9pm-9am (24 hours)
Required to hold the duty phone during the entire duty shift
Complete evening duty log at the completion of each community round
Administrative Tasks : Host 1-2 community meetings each semester with your assigned residential community
Complete general administrative assignments including but not limited to post-event evaluations, intentional conversation notes, work orders, time off requests, etc.
Serve as front desk personnel for the Housing & Residential Life Office 4-5 hours per week (as part of total hours worked each week)
Assist in emergency weather response or other unexpected crisis situations on campus
Complete other relevant tasks as assigned by the Housing & Residential Life Department
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a rising 2nd or 3rd year student in good academic standing at the time of applying, rising 4th year students must have been RAs previously to be eligible.
Must have lived on campus (traditional on campus or hotel) for at least one semester prior to applying.
Required to attend an information session on one of the dates assigned.
Must be willing and able to live on campus for the next academic year.
May not be planning to study abroad during the school year.
Must be able to arrive on campus in early to mid-August for training prior to the beginning of the school year.
Must be able to work an average of 20 hours per week
Will not be approved to work an additional part-time job on campus (while serving in the RA role)
