What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ambassador position at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center?
The RMC Ambassador acts as a service representative to patients and guests at the main hospital door by greeting and assisting them as they enter and leave the hospital. The Ambassador will be the first and last person to make a positive impression on our guests and patients.
Greets everyone within five feet with a smile and a friendly greeting who enters the main hospital entrance
Provides friendly hospitality in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner
If guests walk to the door, Ambassador greets them and asks if they need assistance
If guests arrive by vehicle, Ambassador opens the vehicle door and provides physical assistance as needed
If needed, provides a wheelchair to patients or guests who need one and then connects them with a transporter
If needed, physically assists patients and visitors in and out of wheelchairs and to and from their vehicle
Unloads or loads baggage for the guests
Looks for nonverbal signs of someone being lost
Introduces patients and guests to a volunteer when they are uncertain of the their destination location
Provides location maps to those who do not desire an escort
Varies services as appropriate to the person’s age and level of growth and development
Keeps entrance to main hospital clean and clear of debris
Directs guests to planned activities sponsored by the hospital
Keeps automobile staging area clear and accessible
Directs and delegates as appropriate
Alerts security of any potential security issues
Directs individuals in case of emergency until security arrives
Completes other duties as needed
