Job Description:
The Inventory Manager works within the retail department. As an Inventory Manager, you will report directly to the Store Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring products are being moved, stored, and sold in a manner that meets compliance standards and proper use of METRC. In addition to helping the Inventory Team maintain daily goals, the Inventory Manager assists with package allocations, updating the invoice tracker, supporting ordering, investigating and adjusting discrepancies, and training new staff members. It also involves the reconciliation of cannabis inventories and integration between METRC and POS systems. This includes overseeing physical and digital locations, creating products for sale within the systems, ensuring accurate pricing and pricing tiers are used, creating promo/discounts in the POS, and assisting with product errors. This position requires working directly with the Store Manager, Purchaser, and the Inventory team to achieve scorecard goals. The ideal candidate must have strong attention to detail, leadership and communication skills, and experience working in a highly regulated industry.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Creates products for sale within the systems and assists with product errors. Review all documentation pertaining to inventory and complete all data entry.
- Reconcile cannabis inventories and integrate METRC and POS systems. This includes overseeing physical and digital locations.
- Assist in receiving inbound wholesale deliveries and entering all deliveries and invoices into the third-party purchase tracker.
- Complete reports on errors and deficiencies within documentation and record-keeping of products.
- Perform routine audits of inventory documents and physical inventory audit locations. Report the audits to the Store Manager and take immediate corrective action as directed. Assist in correcting product errors.
- Provide accurate lists of on-hand inventory, license designation, and required items to supply sufficient for sales demand.
- Assists the SM with pulling expiration reports to support inventory control following the FIFO/LILO method.
- Assist the SM in pulling the aging inventory report to maintain scorecard expectations.
- Assists the SM with METRC maintenance and scorecard expectations.
- Work closely with the inventory/bud-back team to develop the daily/weekly menu and ensure a FIFO process is being followed.
- Recognize areas of opportunity that improve the safety and accuracy of inventory.
- Provide accurate lists of on-hand inventory, status designations, and required items to be fully compliant for sale.
- Assists the store manager with Promotions/deals. Entering all discounts and pricing tiers into the system for promotion preparation.
- Stay current on all existing and new compliance laws specific to inventory packaging, labeling, testing, storage, auditing, transfers/deliveries, destruction, security, marketing, and retail sales of products.
- Attend weekly meetings to provide status updates and reports and discuss changes or needs.
- Perform random and routine finished product weight checks to remain compliant with the 935 CMR Cannabis Regulations.
- Inspect retained cannabis and customer return products, as deemed necessary, to ensure safe and compliant product destruction. Record any instances of defective products for quality control improvement in the designated logs.
- Review the in-process batch documentation containing all the product testing information to ensure real-time compliance and labeling accuracy of product specifications.
- Discuss errors directly with the Store Manager so any corrections can be made promptly.
- Provide advice for process improvements to eliminate errors and reduce the risk of contamination and/or compromising product quality.
- Conduct all duties in compliance with safety rules, applicable SOPs, and other applicable guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 1 year of management experience or equivalent role
- 40 hours a week are required at the location.
- Open availability throughout the week as needed.
- Must be willing to commit to a monthly audit schedule.
- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and METRC.
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Good organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented and good with numbers.
- Ability to follow written procedures and monitor others for adherence to written procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience in a highly regulated industry, quality control, and quality assurance.
- Over 21 with the ability to obtain an MA agent registration card.
- Completion of state seed-to-sale tracking (METRC) industry training.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
- Outstanding and professional communication skills.
- Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes/bins.
