GHD has an opportunity for a US Finance Leader. As a key and proactive member of the US Leadership Team, the Finance Leader provides financial and commercial leadership to the US, Business Group Leads, and Project Managers, to improve the overall performance of the business.
Working collaboratively with the Executive General Manager (EGM), General Managers (GM) and Leadership Teams, the role will optimize performance, support profitable growth and drive business outcomes in accordance with GHD’s policies, procedures, strategic and financial performance objectives.
As a senior Finance Leader, the role will lead US Finance teams in the delivery of commercially focused finance solutions across the Business.

In this diverse role you will be involved in the following:
– As a member of each Leadership Team, actively contributes to leadership and delivery of business plan objectives, aligning operations with corporate strategy, setting, influencing and driving financial priorities and results.
– Actively participates as a member of the Americas Finance Leadership Team to promote and drive Americas wide initiatives, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
– Provides advice on key commercial and financial factors to enable informed business decisions.
– Proactively monitors long and short-term business trends and identifies key business risks, recommends and implements actions to mitigate these to optimize business and financial performance.
– Provides insights and innovative improvement options through the delivery, review and analysis of financial reports and KPIs for key business stakeholders.
– Presents in a variety of forms and forums, results and performance against KPIs including insight into impacts on results and improvement opportunities for various stakeholders.
– Provides analytical review and strategic input to ensure informed decision making, including commercial guidance for major bids, panels and projects including (as required) negotiation, processes and reporting.
– Directly supports our business development activities via pricing & commercial reviews, generally as part of our Tender review/approval process.
– Supports the half year and fiscal year end audits related to revenue recognition.
– Delivers annual Country and Region financial budgets, KPI targets and requested reforecasts in partnership with the business.
– Increases commercial awareness with our Leaders, Leadership Teams, Business Group Leads and Project Managers.
– Provides support to the EGM, GM and the Americas Facilities Leader for property and other leasing arrangements, including review and communication of financial impacts to decision makers.
– Ensures compliance with the financial procedures of the organization.
– Provides other financial assistance to key stakeholders that may arise from time to time.
US Finance Leader
– Delivers on all US Country specific requests, such as budgets, forecasts, etc. through management and review between all US FMs.
– Identifies and as appropriate leads, the implementation of and improvement in, GHD finance processes and initiatives across the US.
– As required, provides analysis for due diligence on potential mergers and acquisitions and assists in integration planning and systems transfer.
– Oversees US Federal Compliance team and deliverables.
– Provides leadership and direction of the US Finance team
What you will bring to the team:
– Bachelor’s degree in accounting, plus 15 years of accounting/business operations experience.
– CPA designation or MBA.
– Demonstrated experience and success in a finance leadership role; proven leadership with financial systems and analytics and delivering commercial outcomes.
– Commercial strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and the ability to challenge.
– Strong communication and analytical skills to articulate financial data in a non-technical manner and vice-versa. Experience as a liaison between functional and strategic communities. Strong presentation skills and comfort level with presenting to groups at all levels including C-suite executive level.

– Customer service focused with the ability to connect with operational staff to demonstrate value added from finance partnerships.
– Results oriented.
