What are the responsibilities and job description for the National SBA 7a Loan Closer position at Northeast Bank?
POSITION SUMMARY: Northeast Bank’s (NASDAQ: NBN) National Small Business Administration (“SBA”) Lending team is looking for a motivated and diligent Loan Closer to support its loan origination efforts. Northeast Bank utilizes a technology-based origination platform and collaborates with an established Lender Service Provider (“LSP”) to underwrite and close SBA 7a Small Loans. Northeast Bank has earned a reputation for providing creative and responsive lending solutions and is powered by an experienced team with a successful track record. The Loan Closer will be responsible for supporting the origination process by completing closing due diligence items according to SBA Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”). A successful candidate for the Loan Closer position will have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a dynamic loan pipeline from underwriting through funding in accordance with SBA SOP as well as the Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure all required loan conditions are met and properly documented in compliance with SBA and Bank policies and procedures prior to funding.
- Review loan closing packages to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with the approved loan terms and conditions.
- Execute loan funding process by confirming refinance details, providing clear to close confirmations, preparing wire forms, and advancing hold bank funds when appropriate.
- Perform post-closing file reviews to ensure compliance with SBA and Bank policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Bank’s LSP to address and resolve any pre- or post-closing issues that may arise.
- Assist with regular loan guaranty sale review process.
- Support efforts to respond to various portfolio management or audit inquiries.
- Successfully pass technical and regulatory examinations required by the Company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong track record of performance and leadership.
- Prior banking experience in loan processing and/or loan closing preferred.
- Outgoing, charismatic, and comfortable engaging with people in all types of environments through all mediums (phone, in person, via email).
- Team-orientation with a desire to learn and improve.
- Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS
- Flexibility in schedule with respect to meeting time sensitive deadlines.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
- Some travel is required.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
- Consistently operates a computer and other office machinery such as calculator, copy machine and printers.
- Climate controlled general office setting with moderate noise level.
- Must express or exchange ideas and meaning with co-workers, supervisors, customers and vendors.
