What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Registered Nurse position at Northeast Cincinnati Pediatric Associates, Inc.?
Part Time Position - 24 to 32 hours per week.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Clinical Care:
- Prepares newborns for first office visits.
- Performs lab and office procedures per protocol ordered by providers. These include but not limited to:
- Urine Bladder Catheterization
- Suture Removal
- Venipuncture and Capillary Blood Draw
- Injections (Decadron, Rocephin, and specialty injections such as, Synagis, Lupron, Testosterone, Methotrexate, Vaccines)
- Wound/Burn Dressing changes
- Genesight DNA buccal swabs
- PPD readings
- Dispense/Instruct parent on nebulizer/inhaler
- Nasal pharyngeal suctioning
- Takes calls from clinical labs, rectifies/documents mislabeled specimens
- Prepares Orders Requisitions and completes follow up
- Completes all general tasks which include but not limited to, questions/requests regarding Referrals, Test Orders, Prior Authorizations for Medication/Procedures, and Calls from outside facilities
- Reviews scheduled Hospital and ED Discharge follow up appointments
- Follow up calls to patients/parents for Hospital Discharge, Constipation, ADHD med changes
Rx Refill Requests:
- Reconciles/Sends Refills electronically
- Prepares Rx and collects update for refilling controlled medications
- Runs OARRS reports on patients on controlled medications
- Calls/Sends electronic information for Rx Prior Authorizations with insurance companies
- Completes School/Camp Medication Forms
Telephone Triage:
- Serves as telephone triage nurse to assess the needs and appropriate scheduling of patients
- Answers questions, gives sick child and well child homecare advice per office protocol
- Triages and schedules specific visit types, i.e. Consults, Behavioral Health Assessments, Breastfeeding Consults
- Documents all clinical advice into the patient's EMR chart
