POSITION: Accounts Payable Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Finance
LOCATION: Seneca Falls
STATUS: Full-Time (35 hours a week), Non- Exempt, Monday through Friday.
Hourly Pay: $22 to $25 per hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing college payments, preparing annual form 1099’s, posting inter-College Journal Entries, preparing Bank Reconciliations, and other miscellaneous General Accounting processes.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Matching invoices with purchase orders and packing slips to enter for payment.
- Enter Check Requisitions for payment after reviewing for completeness.
- Enter Travel Expense Reports for payment after reviewing for completeness and following Northeast’s Travel Policy.
- Issue payments to vendors through Paymerang or by printing checks, matching check with invoice, mailing signed checks.
- Maintenance of Accounts Payable files.
- Respond to inquiries about payments both in-house and from outside vendors.
- Reconcile all College bank accounts to the general ledger.
- Review monthly investment statements, record necessary journal entries and update Excel Spreadsheets.
- Respond to inquiries about payments both in-house and from outside vendors.
- Integrate online payments to the general ledger.
- Record monthly entries and budget transfers.
- Prepare annual IRS forms 1099, IRS form 1096, NYS Abandoned property filings, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required with college courses in accounting. Accounting experience preferred. Other requirements include knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to exercise professional judgment, adapt quickly to change, detail oriented, able to work independently and ability to work within a collaborative decision-making arena.
