TITLE: Social Media Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Marketing and Communications

STATUS: Hourly, Part-time, 15 hours/week;
Hybrid / flexible work schedule possible, with on-site time also required.
SALARY RANGE: $22-24 / hr.

Description: Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the Social Media Assistant will be responsible for regular content creation for Northeast College of Health Sciences’ social media channels; coordinating with the Marketing and Communications Division’s editorial content calendar; and regularly reporting on social media activity and trends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with team members around story and messaging ideas, and create on-brand, engaging content (potentially including short video, audio, graphics, and copy) that tells those stories.
- Contribute to the social media planning process and help update the related section of the editorial content calendar.
- Collect and share data on social media engagement related to the College.
- Other duties as assigned.
Methods of Accountability:
- Verbal and written communications with the vice president of marketing and communications.
- Creation and fulfillment of plans and tactics.
- Verbal and written feedback from faculty, staff, and students, as well as other College stakeholders.
- Positive working relationships with colleagues.
- Compliance with College policies and procedures.
- Performance evaluations by the vice president of marketing and communications.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of the conventions, functions, and capabilities of mature and emerging social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Knowledge of social media management tools, especially those similar to those used by the College (e.g. SproutSocial).
- Experience in contributing to an institutional brand voice on social media.
- Experience in producing sharp copy, images, videos, or similar content for social media accounts (samples will be requested).
- Ability to work collaboratively and creatively with others.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including marketing-focused writing skills.
Qualifications:
- AAS degree or equivalent in communications, digital media, public relations, humanities or related fields required.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience creating or supporting brand social media accounts or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
