What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Crisis Emergency Worker position at Northeast Counseling Services?
Northeast Counseling Services is the mental health crisis service provider for central and southern Luzerne County. We are currently seeking individuals to become part of our team providing assessments on mental health clients seeking help. The Walk-In Crisis Worker provides in-person and telephone assessment and intervention for adults, children & adolescents experiencing psychiatric emergencies.
The position requires a Master's Degree in social work, psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university or a Bachelor's Degree in human services field or Registered Nurse. They should possess a working knowledge of the philosophy, concepts, mandates and operations of community mental health services and / or related human services delivery. They should be proficient in writing and verbal communication's skills with knowledge of crisis interventions techniques and an ability to interact with the public.
