Northeast Family Services is seeking an experienced professional to join our growing Massachusetts team as an Intake and Authorization Specialist!
The Intake and Authorization Specialist manages all aspects of the registration and admissions process for Northeast Family Services’ five regions in Massachusetts. The Intake Screener and Authorization Specialist manages all aspects of the registration and admissions process for Northeast Family Services’ five regions in Massachusetts. They are also responsible for answering incoming calls, gathering referral information, verifying insurance coverage, and scheduling clients’ appointments.
To be successful in this position, you should be highly organized be detail oriented, and have a working knowledge of payer portals, co-pays, deductibles, and health insurance benefits. Top candidates will also have excellent interpersonal skills and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes program directors, clinicians, nurse practitioners, and peers.

Qualifications:
HS Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years' experience in patient intake and scheduling
Working knowledge of insurance benefits and authorizations
Prior MA Medicaid experience preferred
Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Experience working with and helping clients with co-occurring disorders
Ability to keep client and company confidences
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work remotely
