Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for insurance verifications, collecting balances due and managing front desk operations in a busy medical environment, ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out. Responsible for setiing up MRI and getting prior apporval. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in medical billing systems, and familiarity with health information management practices.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding services, procedures, and insurance coverage.
- Process patient information accurately, including insurance verification and medical history documentation.
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and follow-up appointments.
- Utilize medical billing systems such as Athenahealth and Dentrix for billing and coding tasks, including ICD-10 coding.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing correspondence.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming for patients.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist is required at least 5 years.
- Familiarity with Medent EMR preferred.
- Knowledge of health information management principles is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- Must be responsible and depenedable as you will open and close the office.
