SUMMARY
The Director of Accounting Projects will lead and oversee accounting-related initiatives supporting two growing multi-billion-dollar businesses, Price Chopper / Market 32 and Tops. This role is responsible for managing large-scale accounting projects, optimizing financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and enhancing operational efficiency across both businesses. Has deep accounting expertise, project management skills, and a strategic mindset to drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and internal controls, financial reporting, systems implementation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Location can be based in Schenectady or Buffalo, NY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management & Strategic Initiatives
- Lead and manage accounting-related projects, including process improvements, system implementations, and compliance initiatives across both Price Chopper / Market 32 and Tops.
- Develop and execute project roadmaps, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements within the shared services finance function.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to optimize ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Drive standardization of accounting policies, procedures, and controls across both businesses.
