We are seeking a Locums Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide coverage in Lima, OH. This role involves 12 hour shifts either 7PM - 7AM or 24 hour shifts 7-7. The position focuses on inpatient trauma care, including daily rounding, new consults, and admissions.
The Nurse Practitioner will perform daily rounding on trauma patients, conduct new consults, and manage admissions. The average caseload includes 6-12 patients per day. The role requires collaboration with the trauma attending surgeon assigned to each shift. While the trauma attending surgeon is typically on call from home, they must be available within 15 minutes or via phone.
Documentation for this position is managed through the Epic EMR system. The Trauma Center is designated as Level 2 adult, and the Nurse Practitioner will provide high-quality care within this setting.
