What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Service Work Crew Supervisor position at Northeast Indiana Community Corrections?
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Reports promptly any altercations, no-shows, or non-compliance of offenders to the Community Service Team Leader.
- Responsible for documentation and verbally reporting anything that affects the everyday operations of the program.
- Redirect anti-social attitudes/beliefs and affirm pro-social attitudes and beliefs.
- Supervises work crew supervisors to ensure uniformity.
- Supervises work crews of up to 8 offenders at one time, and maintains security of worksites.
- Collect urine / saliva samples as needed.
- Maintains vehicle and all equipment.
- Repairs or replaces equipment and reports the same to immediate supervisor.
- Coordinates with user agency regarding work task and date to be completed.
- Enforces rules of the program with all offenders under his/her supervision.
- Report any messages of significance to the appropriate people in an attempt to keep all staff up to date on current events.
- Attend monthly staffing.
- Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Experience dealing with offenders, Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement experience, High school graduate / GED
Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate: Multi-tasking, Organized, Self-Motivated, Basic Computer skills, Ability and Willingness to Learn, Ability to work flexible hours. Understand and use the principles of evidence-based practices as a guide in interactions with program participants.
