What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner position at NORTHEAST INTERNAL MEDICINE ASSOCIATES?
We are a private practice Internal Medicine group searching for an advanced practice provider (NP/PA) to work closely with the physician in the inpatient setting. New graduates are welcome to apply.
We currently serve multiple community hospitals in Northeast Indiana and Ohio, allowing for work location rotation and flexibility.
This is a Full-time position
Schedule: 12 hour night shift. One week on, One week off rotation.
Duties include:
Performing after hours admissions, providing care for patient's admitted under the hospitalist group, and being on call for issues that arise overnight.
Reporting off to the day shift hospitalist to promote proper continuation of care
Performing examinations, ordering and interpreting tests, and going over results with patients or the physician, if indicated
Establishing care or condition management plans, including prescribing medications or other treatments.
Educating the patient and family members about medical conditions and courses of action.
Keeping records regarding patient history, condition, treatments, and progress.
Completing neccesary documentation following rounds.
Alerting physicians when conditions worsen or if abnormalities arise.
Setting: Inpatient medical-surgical unit and ICU.
