What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Hygiene Program Director/Faculty position at Northeast Iowa Community College?
To provide effective instruction to ensure academic programming attains student learning outcomes and prepares students for successful transition into the workforce or transfer to a post-secondary institution.
Qualifications
- A registered dental hygienist who is a graduate of a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program OR a dentist who is a graduate of a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program and has a clear understanding of dental hygiene education and experience working with dental hygienists.
- Meet certification, registration or licensure required to practice in the state of Iowa or have the ability to obtain such.
- A masters degree or higher
- A minimum of three full time or five part time years (6,000 hours) of recent experience as a dental hygienist or a dentist.
- Highly competent in the dental hygiene discipline.
- Able to instruct, assess, and evaluate dental hygiene student learning and performance following CODA standards
- Ability to appropriately and sufficiently relate well to students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Meet the instructor credentialing requirements of the Commission on Dental Accreditation and Northeast Iowa Community College’s Quality Faculty Plan (QFP).
- Previous formal teaching experience is preferred.
