Residential Staff – Part Time and Full Time Openings
The NKHS Crisis, C.A.R.E bed is a short-term Hospital Diversion program, providing a therapeutic environment for those experiencing mental health difficulties.
The Crisis Bed Per Diem Worker provides for the physical, emotional and mental health needs of the consumers at the NKHS C.A.R.E. bed location including medical care, physical care and assistance in daily living skills. Crisis Bed Staff work in a team oriented environment where all convey compassion & understanding of the struggles and empathy for individual’s circumstances.

Northeast Kingdom Human Services is a 501(c)(3) private not-for-profit organization operating with the purpose of promoting high quality, comprehensive community mental health programs in Vermont's beautiful Northeast Kingdom. Our mission is to empower individuals, families, and communities by promoting hope, healing, and support. NKHS is a Designated Agency contracted with the State of Vermont to provide the highest quality of service in the areas of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children and youth with serious emotional disabilities, and adults with mental health and substance use challenges. We serve the populations of Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties through a wide variety of targeted programs for individuals of all ages. NKHS has over 450 employees providing case management, community and home supports, residential care, psychiatry, medication management, therapy, vocational supports, school based counseling, emergency care, and respite services. These services are provided annually to nearly 4,000 of our local community members, helping them overcome challenges and achieve health in mind, body, and spirit.
Responsibilities:
Work with adults with complex issues who need brief crisis intervention.
Provide for a safe and healthy living environment for housed consumers.
Provide direct care to consumers to meet their physical needs.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
Respond to emergency situations appropriately.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to produce written reports of consumer activity.
Demonstrated experience and competence in working with individuals in mental health or substance abuse crisis preferred.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
Valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle insurance required.
Compensation:
Competitive Salary $18.00/hr plus, depending upon experience
