What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Northeast Laboratory Services?
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform all tasks assigned for custodial service. Follow standard work methods as specified by NEL's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and practice safe work habits in accordance with established safety guidelines to ensure the facility is maintained and safe.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs rigid custodial operations following NEL SOP's. for Winslow Facility and one evening weekly for Westbrook Facility. Company vehicle provided for travel between location.
- Performs bathroom cleaning, wall cleaning, window washing, floor sweeping, floor washing and snow shoveling when necessary.
- Removes and disposes of trash.
- Maintains housekeeping supplies and inventory.
- Performs work as assigned by the crew coordinator or facilities manager.
- Work safely utilizing proper PPE.
- Must have the capability of working independently.
Physical Demands:
- Occasional prolonged overhead work, walking, crawling, kneeling and stair climbing.
- Exposure to various cleaning chemicals.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds to chest height.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of custodial experience or experience with cleaning chemicals (desired).
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical.
- Must have a valid drivers license for travel to Westbrook facility
Schedule is 2pm - 10:30pm, M-F with occasional overtime as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
