Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
Reviews analytical data and perform all tasks necessary to ensure compliance with data quality objectives. Completes recertification applications annually to maintain Laboratory certification with all certified agencies and participates in external audits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the Document Control Program within the Laboratory, which includes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Laboratory Quality Assurance Program (LQAP) manual, with appropriate laboratory management.
· Complete recertification applications annually to maintain Laboratory certification.
· Performs daily analytical data validation in LIMS system when needed.
· Responsible for conducting and monitoring of Proficiency Testing (PT) Program.
· Responsible for monthly reporting of results to the Maine Drinking Water Program and Pennsylvania EDD Program.
· Ensures compliance with EPA, NELAC, A2LA, and ISO 17025:2017 Standards, with appropriate laboratory management.
· Ensures that the QA/QC Program meets and complies with all certification requirements, with appropriate laboratory management.
· Ensures that method validation information is documented and accessible.
· Responsible for documenting customer complaints, discrepancy reports and corrective actions as necessary.
· Monitors the Training Program within the Laboratory.
· Daily filing, as needed.
· Performs routine equipment maintenance activities throughout the Laboratory.
· Organizes and conducts annual Internal Audits per the Internal Audit Program within the Laboratory.
· Participate in External Audits by clients or accrediting bodies.
· Performs all duties in accordance with established safety guidelines.
· Performs additional duties in other areas of the Quality Department as needed.

Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Associates or Bachelors in a Science Field preferred
Experience: One (1) year in an environmental laboratory setting is preferred.
Other: Must possess good statistical, communication, computer, and organizational skills.
Must have legible handwriting and good basic math skills.
Familiarity with the Maine State Environmental Laboratory Certification Rules a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
