The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to oversee our growing warehouse operations. This role will initially manage a small team (up to 3 employees or less), with potential expansion in the future. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, international trade regulations, and Dangerous Goods (DG) management and transportation. They will also be responsible for optimizing warehouse layouts and material control flows and maintaining strong relationships with freight companies while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Logistics
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Develop and maintain efficient warehouse layouts and material control flows to optimize space and productivity.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Implement best practices for material handling, order fulfillment, and warehouse safety.
- Maintain relationships with freight companies to optimize shipping costs, service levels, and delivery efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and Incoterms when managing import/export processes.
- Track and report warehouse performance metrics and KPIs, such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and shipping lead times.
Dangerous Goods & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods (DG) handling and transportation regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG, OSHA).
- Train warehouse staff on DG handling and storage procedures.
- Maintain accurate Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, ensuring company policy and procedure adherence.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities while maintaining high teamwork and efficiency.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for professional growth.
- Plan for future team expansion as business needs grow.
Equipment & Safety
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment.
- Enforce OSHA safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
- Develop and implement warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for efficiency and safety.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2-5 years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, or supply chain roles.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and Dangerous Goods transportation.
- Experience in warehouse layout design, material control flows, and KPIs.
- Proven experience managing freight company relationships to optimize transportation efficiency.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems (WMS/ERP) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Dangerous Goods Handling (IATA, DOT, IMDG).
- Experience working in a growing warehouse environment with team expansion.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other warehouse efficiency methodologies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
