SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will supervise Case Managers working with individuals who have a intellectual/developmental disability, mental illness and/or co-occuring substance use disorders. Primary areas of responsibility include supervision of staff, authorization of services and oversight of service provision.. Will assist with collaboration and monitoring of the individual's family, social, community and vocational/educational functioning. This will include obtaining and documenting all necessary information as mandated in the agency's case recording and documentation protocol. Responsibilities will also include budget development, program reporting, and planning and evaluation of services. Will have a role in the advancement of the culture of gentleness and may serve as a member of the Behavior Supports Committee. Supervisor will be an active member of the Placement Committee and ensure individuals served remain in the least restrictive setting. Will provide emergent assessments, as necessary and after hour emergency services supervision. Participates as an active member of the Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Team. Will develop and complete Intake Assessments, Pre-plans and Individual Plans of Service consistent with Person Centered Planning guidelines.
Rate of Pay: $71,510 - $98,779
FLSA: Exempt/Full-Time
Reports To: Clinical Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters Degree in Social Work (or other acceptable field) from a recognized or accredited institution preferred. Registered Nurse Degree will also be considered based on level of experience. Will be required to maintain highest degree of licensure or state registrations specific to the position.
Experience: One or more years of relevant mental health experience and clinical supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required Lived experience with mental illness intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders valued.
Other: Functional computer literacy is required. Must have Michigan driver's license and a satisfactory driving record as determined by the agency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Will demonstrate knowledge of interventions and treatment of complex care needs for individuals with medical and behavioral challenges to include co-occuring substance use, including the effects of substances and interactions with psychotropic medications.
- Will demonstrate knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code, Medicaid Manual and probate legal processes.
- Will demonstrate knowledge of protocols for eligibility criteria and the medical necessity of case management.
- Will demonstrate effective collaboration with guardians and natural supports of individuals served and maintain favorable relationships with community partners.
- Demonstrates effective case recording in accordance with Person Centered Planning and Case Recording Guidelines established by the agency.
- Demonstrate accurate assessment and diagnosis for persons requesting mental health services in accordance with the current edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD).
- Provide effective clinical supervision and evaluation of assigned staff.
- Responsible for adhering to budgetary guidelines relating to the program.
- Will develop and monitor program reports.
- May provide direct support services to individuals.
- Will be expected to oversee services are provided to individuals in non-traditional settings.
- May provide individual or group therapy services.
- Will participate in Supervisor on-call rotation assisting staff that are serving on the Emergency Services Unit.
- Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions, standards of practice including confidentiality and recipient rights and emergency protocol as it relates to the Board.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs other related duties as required.
2. May be requested to be involved in the Board's continuous quality improvement program.
3. May be required to transport individuals and/or provide own transportation while performing agency-related duties.
4. Prepare various reports related to duties as required.
