SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs various clerical duties requiring computer literacy, clinical dictation transcription, scanning, appointment scheduling, telephone switchboard operation, release of information, and other duties as needed for effective and efficient operation of the agency's clerical department.
Rate of Pay: $18.08 - $24.91
FLSA: Non-Exempt/Full-Time
Reports To: Office Manager or Designee
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Experience: General office experience is preferred. Lived experience with mental illness, intellectual or developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders is desired valued.
Other:
- High accuracy and speed (60 wpm) in keyboard
- Computer/Word processing experience is required
- Ability to operate general office machines (Fax, copier, Dictaphone etc.)
- Medical terminology preferred
- Verbal and written communication skills essential
- Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, and punctuation essential
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Good interpersonal skills in relating to the public and peers, tactful and courteous
- Capability to man multiline telephone switchboard
- Ability to work independently and also be a team player
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions, standards of practice, and emergency protocol.
2. Clinical dictation transcription
3. Clinical records scanning
4. Telephone switchboard operation
5. Appointment scheduling
6. Release of confidential information requests
7. Faxing, copying, preparation of outgoing mail
8. Answering overflow telephone calls.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs other related duties as required.
2. May be requested to be involved in the Board's continuous quality improvement program.
3. May be required to provide own transportation while performing agency-related duties.
