NEOKCR leads or supports various initiatives designed to build capacity within the NEOKC community, including our own PlaceKeepers, NEOKCR Business Accelerator (NBA), Community Collaboration Space (CCS), and the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF).
Job Summary:
NEOKCR is seeking an experienced Real Estate Development professional to lead and manage our real estate development and construction projects. This contract role will oversee development initiatives from concept to completion, ensuring projects align with NEOKCR’s mission and community-driven values.
Additionally, this position will provide technical assistance and mentorship to PlaceKeepers cohort and Capstone Co-development program participants. Capstone Co-Development Program is an initiative that facilitates development partnerships between NEOKCR and PlaceKeepers alumni.
Key Responsibilities:Real Estate Development & Construction Project Management
- Lead all aspects of NEOKCR’s real estate development projects, including site selection, feasibility analysis, financing, construction management, and project closeout.
- Manage relationships with architects, contractors, consultants, and community stakeholders to ensure high-quality, mission-aligned project execution.
- Develop and oversee project budgets, timelines, and compliance requirements.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, low-income housing tax credits, and public-private partnerships.
Capstone Co-Development Program Leadership
- Co-Design, implement, and manage the Capstone Co-Development Program, facilitating development partnerships between NEOKCR and PlaceKeepers alumni.
- Guide program participants through the real estate development process, from project conceptualization to execution.
- Support PlaceKeepers alumni in securing financing, navigating regulatory processes, and managing construction.
- Foster collaborative, mission-aligned partnerships that empower local developers and ensure equitable community investment.
PlaceKeepers Program Mentorship & Technical Assistance
- Act as general development expert during PlaceKeepers cohort program
- Provide direct technical assistance, and mentorship to PlaceKeepers program participants, equipping them with the knowledge and resources to advance their own community development projects.
- Develop educational materials, workshops, and networking opportunities to build the capacity of emerging community developers.
- Support PlaceKeepers participants in accessing funding, land acquisition opportunities, and regulatory approvals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 years of experience in real estate development, construction management, or community development.
- Strong knowledge of affordable housing finance, construction processes, and urban planning.
- Experience working with historically disinvested communities and a commitment to equitable development.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and stakeholder relationships.
- Strong facilitation, mentorship, and training skills.
Compensation & Schedule:
- Part-time, flexible schedule (15-20 hours per week).
- Compensation: $40 – $50 per hour, based on experience
- Benefits may be available depending on the final schedule.
