NP or PA in Ithaca, NY

Summary:

We are looking to hire an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join a fun and busy practice in beautiful Ithaca, NY.

We are looking for someone who will work well within a team. Our providers have diverse experiences and are continually striving to improve the quality of care that we provide to our patients. We take great care in staying up-to-date with the current evidence-based guidelines. Our providers meet monthly for our Journal Club and are highly encouraged to present relevant articles at these meetings and participate in these discussions. Other educational opportunities include case-based discussions on a monthly basis with a local Psychiatrist, and regular meetings to review up-to-date guidelines. We strive to work on a Quality Improvement Project on a yearly basis. We have also received a grant to provide education to our staff on the principles of Trauma Informed Care.

Our office functions in a team-based approach. We are looking for a PA or NP who is interested in best practices. This new provider should be able to receive and provide feedback.

Our patients are assigned a Primary Care Physician and an Advanced Practice Provider (APP). Effort is made to provide care for both well and acute visits within this care team model.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Function as part of a care team providing services both in-person and through telehealth.

Provide outpatient care including well visits from 0-21 as well as acute care visits for a variety of common complaints including minor injuries, URIs, otitis media, abdominal pain, asthma, allergies, etc.

Newborn care including newborn well visits and lactation/feeding concerns.

Evaluate common mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

Coordinate care with the care team and local specialists.

Will see approximately 21 patients per day.

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree obtained: Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
One year or more of experience in a pediatric outpatient setting preferred.

Lactation experience or willingness to receive training. IBCLC or CLC preferred.

COVID and Flu vaccination required.

Job Type:
Salaried full-time, Monday - Friday (40 hours). Part-time options are also available as well.
