Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative (Northeast Power) has an opening for an Information Services & Technologies Intern at the Palmyra, Missouri, location. Northeast Power is a transmission cooperative delivering power to northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa.
This is a paid summer internship starting in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. The standard work schedule follows a 4-day, 10-hour shift—Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Some flexibility in workdays and hours may be required based on project needs and assignments.
What You Will Do:
This position will provide an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience with IT and Networking systems, IT infrastructure and telecommunications facilities. This internship will assist in the documentation and potential installation, configuration, and maintenance of a multi-platform computing and network environment. In addition, you will:
- Document existing systems and processes.
- Create mapping for existing systems
- Install software updates including but not limited to firmware, driver, security, performance, and service packs
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of telecommunications facilities
- Provide assistance to benchmark, analyze, report and make recommendations for the improvement of IT infrastructure and IT systems
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a highly driven individual who is well organized and extremely detail oriented. Ideally you will actively be working towards a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related field. In addition, we are looking for:
- Junior or Senior standing; Sophomores or recent grads may be considered
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.80 or higher
- Highly proficient with personal computers and associated applications
