About the Opportunity
NEPCG is seeking an Insurance Services and Underwriting Assistant to support our team and the firm’s Financial Planning strategy implementations. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, possess a keen sense of prioritization and organization, and thrive in a high-paced entrepreneurial organization.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
The Life and Health Insurance Services and Underwriting Assistant provides critical support to the underwriting and insurance services team by performing a range of administrative and operational tasks. The role involves assisting with the preparation, review, and processing of insurance applications, maintaining records, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting Support:
- Assist underwriters with gathering and verifying client information for life and health insurance applications.
- Review and input application data into underwriting systems for evaluation.
- Prepare and organize supporting documentation needed for underwriting decisions.
- Follow up with clients, agents, and brokers on missing or incomplete application details.
Insurance Services:
- Process policy renewals, cancellations, and endorsements.
- Maintain and update policy records in the database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with claims, billing, and customer service departments to resolve client inquiries.
- Track and monitor the status of applications and communicate updates to relevant parties.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule appointments for clients' exams for the underwriting team.
- Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including calls, emails, and correspondence.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper filing systems for easy retrieval of documents.
- Special projects as needed basis
Education, Training & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experienced in client service, preferably within the finance sector.
- Knowledge of insurance products, underwriting processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000
