Job Description
As a Certified Surgical Tech First Assist at Northeast Regional Medical Center you’ll play a vital role in doing what you do best- providing quality care to our patients. Requirements:
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of Surgical Technician School or 2 years experience as surgical scrub technician
- Graduate of advanced surgical training as Surgical 1stAssist
- First Assistant certification required
- Current BLS required
- 1 year experience as a Surgical First Assist preferred.
- Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to address patients, families and hospital personnel
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
- Ability to flex hours and shifts due to fluctuations in patient acuity and staff availability.
About the Job:
The Surgical Technician 1st Assistant as an assistant to the surgeon handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. The ST/FA, through active participation, assists in planning, implementing and ensuring quality patient care during the operative procedure.
