Certified Driving Instruction Responsibilities...
The Certified Driving Instructor (CDI) performs duties related to driver rehabilitation of our patients as they work toward attaining improved independence by means of safe operation of a motor vehicle. The CDI works as part of the driving rehabilitation team, and when necessary, under the supervision of the Driving Clinic Coordinator and Certified Driver Rehab Specialist (CDRS). This may include in-vehicle and potentially on-road assessment of clients as well as driver rehab training, both on and off the road. The CDI is responsible for continued development of this program in accordance with the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED).
To qualify you must...
To Obtain:
1. Meets qualifications of a State Driving Instructor.
2. Meets all qualifications for CDI based upon ADED requirements.
3. Works per diem, part-time, or full time hours as deemed necessary by the clinic manager.
4. Exhibits ability to communicate effectively through oral presentation and written documentation.
5. Must possess strong organizational skills.
6. Constructive problem solving and emotional maturity.
7. Formal continuing education and independent education in area of specialty.
To Maintain:
1. Meet majority of job criteria.
2. Maintains CPR, State Driver Education Certificate and a good driving record.
