Northeast Safety specializes in traffic control services. We are the industry-leading traffic control company in Maine and are seeking a self-motivated and well-organized individual to monitor and coordinate our fleet and field resources statewide.
Position Overview:
In this position, you will oversee daily warehouse and fleet operations. You will be responsible for maintaining our off-site storage facilities and coordinating vehicle appointments and change overs so a valid driver’s license and ability to travel is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Inventory Management:
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory management, distribution and repairs
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe environment of warehouse and all off-site facilities
- Develop and implement inventory control systems to ensure accurate stock levels of tools, equipment and vehicle resources
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflows for maximum efficiency
- Prepare and submit supply order requests to Operations Manager for approval
- Coordinate equipment returns, replacements and drop-offs for field employees statewide
- Assist with special projects by reading traffic control plans, pulling specified sign requirements
Fleet Management:
- Oversee and maintain a fleet of vehicles, ensuring reliability and safety
- Schedule vehicle appointments and coordinate necessary vehicle exchanges with fleet drivers
- Submit vehicle repair estimates to Controller for approval
- Primary point of contact for fleet drivers and all fleet-related questions and issues
- Perform routine vehicle details and minor maintenance
- Maintain fleet related tracking systems
- Cross-check driver expense reports with Company WEX account, investigate any flagged purchases and follow up with Drivers to include disciplinary conversations as appropriate
- Escalating major violations to Operations Manager for additional follow up with fleet drivers
- Perform onboarding and offboarding of vehicles and fleet drivers
- Ensure all fleet operations comply with DOT (Department of Transportation) and OSHA standards.
- Assist Office Manager in maintaining valid insurance and registration documents in each vehicle
Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols for warehouse and fleet operations
- Plan, schedule and conduct regular safety training for fleet drivers
- Perform routine vehicle and driver inspections
- Investigate and report incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Stay current with federal, state, and local safety regulations affecting warehouse and fleet operations
- Perform work zone set up on special projects by following sign specifications on Traffic Control Plans
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Experience in Logistics, Warehouse Management, Fleet Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Familiarity with Traffic Control Plans is a plus!
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in warehouse management systems and fleet management software (preferred)
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of safety standards, including OSHA and DOT regulations
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and occasionally as part of a team
Requirements:
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs., stand and sit for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures and environments
- Must maintain Maine State Driver’s License and insurability
- Must have a reliable vehicle and cell phone
- Must be able to use a GPS
