The Quality of Life (QoL) Specialist is responsible for ensuring a safe, welcoming, and inclusive shopping environment for customers while providing compassionate support to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use issues within the retail facility. This role combines security functions with empathetic customer engagement, ensuring that all guests—especially those in vulnerable situations—are treated with dignity and respect. The ideal candidate has experience in Mental Health or Homeless institutions, social work, or community outreach and possesses excellent conflict resolution skills

Pay rate: $25.10 - $27.05 depending on experience
**Driver's License of three years or more with clean record is required**

Quality of Life Specialist Requirements:
- Monitor and maintain a safe shopping environment by conducting regular patrols of the store and surrounding areas.
- Capable of providing first responder assistance in the event of medical emergencies
- Have or in pursuit of a degree or career in Social Work or community services
- De-escalate situations involving disruptive behavior while ensuring the well-being of all customers and staff.
- Assist individuals in distress by offering support and connecting them with appropriate community resources.
- Enforce store policies while using a customer-service-oriented approach.
- Respond to incidents, theft, disturbances, and emergencies with professionalism and composure.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.
- Excellent computer skills utilizing multiple screens
- Neat and professional appearance
- Dependable means of transportation
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English (both written and verbal)
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
- Candidates must also be able to successfully pass ALL pre-employment background, and drug screenings.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Quality of Life Specialist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Approach and interact with individuals in need of assistance with compassion and respect.
- Offer guidance and resources to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health crises, or substance use challenges.
- Work closely with store management, social service agencies, and security personnel to ensure vulnerable individuals receive the appropriate support.
- Foster a positive shopping experience by maintaining a visible and approachable presence in the store.
- Educate staff on best practices for handling QoL-related situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Capable of providing first responder assistance in the event of medical emergencies
- Have or in pursuit of a degree or career in Social Work or community services
- Respond to requests for assistance and evaluate appropriate courses of action.
- Comply with all requirements/directives within the on-site operations manual/post orders.
- Assume other duties as required by either Client or Northeast Security, Inc
