SUMMARY

The Business Analyst plays a critical role in supporting merchandising and marketing by providing actionable, data-driven insights focused on key performance metrics and operational efficiencies. Serving as a key resource for Category and Marketing Managers, this position aids in the development of strategies and tactics by integrating various data sources, including market trends, internal systems, and supplier information. The Business Analyst collaborates closely with IT to ensure seamless data integration and the optimization of business intelligence tools to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop proficiency in merchandising and marketing data sources, enabling better decision-making and understanding of the impact to stores, while supporting the flow of information between category teams, marketing, IT, vendors, accounting, and retail operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams in marketing, merchandising, and operations to understand their business needs, and design analytics and business intelligence solutions that address those needs and enhance decision-making across the organization.
• Provide leadership in the development, maintenance, and optimization of business intelligence tools, including reports, dashboards, and other data-driven solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Lead cross-functional projects, working with end users to define requirements and implement solutions that improve business performance.
• Foster a culture of innovation by staying current with trends in business intelligence, analytics, and technology, and applying these insights to solve business challenges.
• Promote analytics competencies across the organization, enabling teams to effectively utilize data and advanced analytics techniques for improved decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Train teams on business intelligence tools and data analytics techniques, providing guidance and best practices to enhance their ability to use data for better decision-making and performance improvements.
