What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Field Technician position at Northeast Shared Services?
Salary: $22.63- $33.95
SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this position is to troubleshoot, install, repair, and/or replace IT equipment and related hardware and software within our grocery stores and administrative support locations. This position requires frequent travel from site to site for service requests and project related activities. IT Field Technicians provide information technology support to customers via phone, remote access, email, and/or onsite service requests that are scheduled or require dispatched service to locations based on the needs of the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot, install, repair, and/or the replace computer hardware and software in new and existing store and warehouse locations including, but not limited to: Registers, scales, servers, switches, printers, keyboards, circuit boards, phone equipment, battery backups, monitors, hard drives, hand scanners, message boards, and new equipment as needed.
- Maintain the integrity of the store networks including network wiring and terminations.
- Demonstrate Inventory Management and parts allocation within assigned company truck.
- Demonstrate proficiency while troubleshooting and resolving technology issues.
- Provide ongoing feedback to management and associates/teammates regarding equipment use and misuse to reduce future failures and develop better trouble shooting procedures.
- Presents a professional appearance to customers by dressing in professional attire according to company standards.
- Able to provide extraordinary customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Performs duties as assigned, including but not limited to, other duties that arise from the needs of the business.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal departments on issues.
- Present a customer-oriented image of professionalism and service satisfaction while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of all company used software relating to position tasks.
- Must have a valid driver's license
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
- At least two years' experience with PC hardware and software and the ability to perform basic IT maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation.
- Familiarity with grocery store equipment (register POS system, network and server gear, self-check-out units, printers, switches etc.).
- Ability and desire to gain technical certifications as necessary to grow in the role.
- Ability to work firsthand with equipment and to perform the physical demands of installation.
