Salary: $60,405.80- $85,810.00
SUMMARY
Assists with development, implementation, and evaluation of corporate food safety and occupational health and safety programs in assigned locations. Provides support to customers and other business partners through the education and validation of applicable food safety and occupational health & safety standards and procedures as related to assigned locations. Provides instruction through training, coaching, auditing, and mentoring. Interacts with third party food safety and occupational safety & health service providers and regulatory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, Implement, review and report on programs, procedures and policies for OSHA and Food Safety in accordance with a distribution setting.
Performs audits in distribution centers and other assigned facilities to ensure we meet or exceed established internal and regulatory occupational health & safety and food safety requirements.
Analyze, interpret, and utilize injury/near-miss data/metrics to further minimize occupational health & safety risks, and provides summary reporting to supervision and leadership weekly, period end, and other frequencies, as necessary.
Interprets regulatory standards and identification of industry trends and best practices to develop internal occupational health and safety and food safety programs and initiatives.
Effectively communicate Safety concerns/opportunities and provide direction/advice/consultation, and training to supervision and leadership in distribution centers and other assigned locations.
Provide occupational health & safety and food safety support, direction, and follow-up for emergency/crisis situations (power outages, water emergencies, fires, floods, claimed illnesses/injury, recalls, audits, etc.), and updates supervisor as needed.
Facilitates and actively participates in facility Safety Committee Meetings, orientations, and onboarding to educate, strengthen and support safety system and culture in each assigned location.
Performs workplace safety Job Safety Analysis and conducts observations in assigned locations and provides training and coaching where needed to support a compliant safety culture.
Participates as an active member of Emergency Response Team (ERT) and/or Facility Emergency Coordinator (FEC)
Serves as a liaison between third party food safety and pest control operators and management in assigned locations.
Conduct/Implement Safety training programs for all assigned locations.
Ensure that all Corporate, State, and Federal guidelines are adhered to and that assigned facilities are compliant.
Assists supervision in all assigned facilities with developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and food safety HACCP, and Preventive Control plans and provides support to distribution leadership with regulatory food safety inspections.
Participate in any career development programs deemed necessary for the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent customer service skills.
Good analytical ability and competence in problem solving.
Strong computer skills (Windows, Office, Excel) Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Must hold a valid driver’s license.
May be asked to obtain or maintain AED certification or emergency responder certification.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
College degree is preferred with studies preferably in safety, health sciences, business, and/or physical sciences. Accredited safety designation (ASP) preferred.
2-5 years experience in Safety, preferably in a distribution center environment or 5 plus years experience in retail, transportation, warehouse/shop environments.
Management experience preferred.
Minimum 40 hours of OSHA safety training in General Industry Regulations and other certifications as deemed necessary.
Experience in developing and conducting Safety or other training programs
