POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Welding Technology Instructor, District Employee Assigned to Pryor Campus
Exempt, Certified, Full-Time, 10-month Staff
Starting Date: August 1, 2025
Reports to: Campus Director
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, with a 50-minute lunch break.
Compensation
Package: $58,973 to $75,830 annual minimum salary, commensurate with experience. Health, dental, vision, paid life insurance, and teachers’ retirement paid; flexible benefits plan; sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays. The total minimum compensation package is approximately $78,973 to $95,830 annually.
Primary
Function: A 10-month Instructor is responsible for instruction, classroom/lab management, discipline, advisory committee, inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, advising student organization, controlling lab projects, ordering and recording purchase of supplies, student placement, supporting board policies and growth, public relations, and to represent Northeast Technology Center in a professional manner at all times. The instructor will work in a team situation with other personnel to train students to develop successful trade skills.
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Requirements include currently teaching in a Career Tech Welding Technology Program or a minimum of five (5) years of recent work experience in the code welding Industry with proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, PAC, CAC and OXY-FUEL Cutting. Background and experience in a variety of code welding jobs that may include manufacturing experience and construction experience preferred. A Pre-employment Weld evaluation will be required and will include: 1. 6” 6G TIG root, 7018 fill and cap, 2. 6” 6G GMAW root FCAW fill and cap, 3. 2” 5G GTAW 300 series stainless steel, 4. 3G 5/8” GMAW vertical butt weld, uphill or downhill root, uphill fill and cap. Excellent communications and human relations skills, especially with secondary and adult students; proficiency in record keeping, prioritizing, and scheduling; ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in the performance of duties; knowledge of the importance of confidentiality. Experience in email applications and other computer applications is required, as well as knowledge of current school laws and/or state and federal regulations related to instruction in the classroom. All positions require a criminal history background check and a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Section 135 of the Oklahoma School Code prohibits a school from employing or re-employing anyone convicted of a felony. Proofs of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status are required.
