THE ORGANIZATION
NET Centers & NET Services (NET) is a nonprofit agency providing compassionate care and commitment to community engagement; helping individuals and families heal, recover, and rebuild their lives. NET employs/contracts approximately 1000 individuals across multiple departments to include mental health, addiction treatment, foster care, residential group care, adoption, juvenile justice services and child welfare services.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Chef will be responsible for food purchases, meal planning and preparation for up to 10 residents; ensuring NET complies with food service regulations. The Chef is required to work 30 hours/week to purchase food and prepare meals on site a minimum of 5 days a week; and meal prep and planning for 7 days per week. The Chef is responsible for ensuring that all food service areas are maintained in accordance with local and state regulations
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
- Order and maintain proper levels of food inventory
- Lead meal planning efforts, ensuring residents have healthy, well-balanced three meals and snacks three times per day
- Ensure that NETs food service area is in compliance with all local and state regulations regarding food handling
- Conduct dietary assessments of all residents to ensure that meals that meet their dietary needs and restrictions
- Maintain all temperature logs for both refrigerator and freezer
- Document all food allergies of residents to ensure no resident is put in jeopardy of allergic reaction
- Attend all scheduled trainings and staff meetings as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diplomas or recognized equivalent
- 2 years experience working with high-risk youth
- ServSafe Certificaton
- Knowledge of the Philadelphia Juvenile Justice System
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
- Ability to manage both the strategic and day-to-day operations with superior organizational skills; ensuring the management of multiple projects, and being highly detail oriented.
- Personality to enforce accountability of NET policies and procedures, must be able to work with all types of personalities
- Flexible and able to exercise independent judgment to interpret and apply policies and regulations to specific situations.
- Adhere to applicable city, county, state, and federal laws and regulations, internal policies and procedures, and standards.
- Must have current, satisfactory verification of the following:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
- FBI Record Check (If applicable)
- Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
- Valid Drivers License (in state of residency) with clean driving record for past 5 years
