Summary
The Community Support Services department is funded 100% through the CUA’s prevention budget and is responsible for being the lead in the CUA as it relates to preventive services to non-case families in the CUA’s assigned geographical region, as well as the prevention services as it relates to re-entry after discharge. This position is accountable to the Community Umbrella Agency (CUA) director. The Director of Community Support Services (DCSS) oversees the community engagement initiatives of the CUA within its assigned geographical region, the Strengthening Families staff and the implementation of the Strengthening Families framework as well as the CUA’s aftercare program. The DCSS works collaboratively the case-management staff to ensure that all supports, and services are timely and aimed at establishing and building on case families Protective Factors in accordance with the Strengthening Families framework.
Qualifications
Position Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field; including but not limited to sociology, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, business and communications, education, divinity, or public health administration.
· Experience in a position that involves coordination and engagement with community members, groups, stakeholders, or any combination of these is preferable
· Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Ability to use computers with proficient skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Working knowledge of social work values, child welfare services, child and family service systems
· Valid Driver’s License (issued by state in which employee lives) and safe driving record and proof of insurance coverage. May be required to use own vehicle when other means of transportation are unavailable.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
· Able to respond to on-call rotation responsibilities without incurring difficulty
· Must demonstrate genuine empathy and concern for individuals as indicated in our corporate vision, mission, and value statements.
· Adhere to applicable city, country, state and federal laws and regulations, internal and CARF standards.
