Northeast Wisconsin Retina Associates is a six physician, six location retina practice. We are a fast-paced practice providing a rewarding, supportive environment to employees.
We are looking for a technician based in our Stevens Point office. Occasional travel to other locations may be required.
Medical subspecialty office seeking an individual who can deliver excellent customer service to our patients and maintain efficient clinic flow for our practice. This is a great opportunity for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Previous ophthalmology/optician experience is a bonus, but willing to train an individual who is motivated and eager to learn.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document comprehensive medical and ophthalmic history utilizing an ophthalmic-based EMR system.
- Preliminary examination screening (visual acuity, pupillary assessment, confrontational VF, tonometry, etc).
- Performance of diagnostic imaging (OCT, fundus photography, fluorescein angiography).
- Assist with office-based procedures (intraocular injection of medications, laser photocoagulation, photodynamic therapy, pneumatic retinopexy).
- Develop competency with an EMR system (MDI), digital imaging system and electronic-based prescription program (ERx).
- Miscellaneous cross coverage duties for clinical and business tasks.
- Phlebotomy experience a plus.
Performance Requirements
- Ophthalmology/Optometry experience preferred but not required.
- Extremely efficient, organized and resourceful.
- Must be flexible and able to function in a fast-paced environment with great interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to multi task.
- Have knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Travel
Travel to other locations based on the needs of the practice. The position is a 4-10 hour per day schedule, with one rotating day off.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week
