LOCATION: District Wide – Primary location in Green Bay
STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.
SALARY RANGE: $69,344 - $74,738 per year
- Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY
Support and assist faculty in the development of effective teaching strategies centered on clinical simulation in the nursing and allied health program curriculum. Participate in all aspects of simulation, including development, planning, assessment and evaluation of students and operation of simulation equipment. Maintain expertise in existing and emerging clinical and healthcare technologies and healthcare industry best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Participates in the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the growth of the Health Science simulation center that considers accreditation, certification, regulatory, instructional, and budgetary components.
- Support and assist faculty in the development of effective teaching strategies centered on clinical simulations in the nursing and allied health curriculum using NACSL standards of best practice. This includes the use of low, medium and high-fidelity simulators, virtual reality simulation equipment, standardized patients, electronic health records, and video-recording systems for review and debriefing.
- Create and implement educational programs for faculty new to simulation including pre-briefing, simulation and debriefing.
- Design and implements on-going faculty development activities in the use of and incorporation of ever-changing simulation technology
- Participate in all aspects of simulation, including development, planning, assessment and evaluation of students, and operation of simulation equipment.
- Maintain expertise in existing and emerging clinical simulation and healthcare technologies and healthcare industry best practices, and disseminate this knowledge to faculty, students, and staff.
- Attend and participate in state and national simulation training and/or conferences and integrate evidence-based practice in simulation planning and development.
- Chair the Simulation Committee. Collaborate with committee members (faculty and simulation technician) on development and implementation of simulation experiences that align with curriculum and identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and update policies and procedures related to simulations, operations of the simulators, and simulation center.
- Oversees assessments and continuous improvement activities of the Health Sciences simulation center.
- Develop student instructional materials in collaboration with faculty and simulation technician.
- Work closely with the simulation technician on ordering supplies, programing simulations, and scheduling.
- Facilitate collaboration amongst nursing faculty and WTCS nursing programs to optimize technology use.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary education opportunities at NWTC utilizing simulation spaces.
- Network with educators in local health care settings to keep abreast of trends in clinical practice.
- Collaborate with healthcare educators and other external constituents to keep abreast of trends in clinical practice and simulation technology.
- Lead the design and development of XR health simulations
- Create and implement an XR curriculum for health students
- Collaborate with faculty and other stakeholders to ensure simulations align with learning outcomes and objectives
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of the XR simulations and make improvements as needed
- Provide training and support to faculty and students in the use of XR technology
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in XR and nursing education research
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- A Master of Science in Nursing or a BSN enrolled in ad activity pursing completion of MSN. Must have a specific interest in utilizing simulation as a learning technology.
- Three years of acute care clinical experience within last five years.
- Expertise or experience in information technology (IT) or computer software/training is desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic file management.
- Candidate must hold and maintain a current RN license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard insurance policy terms.
**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

- Past experience with simulation software desirable.
