Position Summary
Provides support to end-users; Ensures that computers, phones, and associated equipment are operational at all times; Maintains helpdesk ticket system, and answers IT helpdesk main number during normal business hours.
Position Accountabilities
Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Provides technical assistance to end-users including interpretation of specifications and instructions.
Provides end-users with PC and network technical support including in-service / training as needed.
Assists with maintenance related to network functionality
Assists with phone handset configuration and maintenance
Assists with specialized server / system maintenance as required.
Assists computer operators with hardware or software problems.
Deploys new resources and repositions old resources to better serve elsewhere; updates all software involved in such cases.
Ensures prompt and courteous feedback to helpdesk requests.
Maintains computer inventory database / spreadsheet(s).
Sets up printers for automatic and manual print jobs.
Assists site-contact or project coordinator for software / hardware installation as assigned.
Updates operating system as required; loads and updates software applications as instructed by supervisor.
Establishes and maintains network user accounts, user environments, directories, and security; performs random checks to ensure hospital policies are followed and reports violations to supervisor or department director.
Attends technical conferences, classes, and seminars to keep skills up to date.
Rotates on-call schedule with co-workers and/or supervisors.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisor / department director.
Minimum Education - High School or Equivalent
Minimum Experience - Computer courses in high school, technical school, or college
Preferred Education - Associate’s Degree in Information Systems or previous equivalent experience
