Position Summary
Performs a variety of tasks including issuing supplies, maintaining inventories, and compiling stock records. Receives, inspects and delivers incoming materials, supplies, and equipment to central supplies or to the user departments as directed. Perform a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the hospital. Perform a variety of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food; cleans kitchen area and cooking utensils.
Position Accountabilities
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
Receives incoming materials, supplies, and equipment and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages in shipment and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
Uncrates and assembles equipment; ensures that patient care equipment has been properly labeled and inspected.
Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
Coordinates items for shipment by commercial conveyance by preparing bills of lading and/or other documents as required.
Receives requests for supplies, selects stock from inventory, and loads distribution vehicles. Distributes supplies to designated areas.
Inventories user storage areas and replenishes inventory or par levels.
Labels billable and non-billable items and prepares documents for charging supplies to patient accounts.
Organizes and maintains records pertinent to stock levels, supply quantities issued, and other data; recommends modifications to quotas or inventories.
Maintains perpetual inventory, taking periodic physical inventory.
Notifies appropriate personnel when in-house stock reaches order point or when ordered material is past scheduled delivery date.
Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Dietary
Cleans the kitchen area and cooking utensils.
Carries dishes and foods between kitchen and serving lines.
Operates dishwasher to ensure all dishes and utensils are clean.
Balances the cash drawer on a daily basis.
Prepares coffee and urns for food service.
Prepares, loads, transports, and cleans food carts.
Collects, processes, and disposes of trash, cans, bottles, and similar debris and transports to disposal area.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Attends meetings as required.
Wipes off counters and tables; arranges, rearranges, and replenishes items as needed.
Greets all customers promptly and courteously.
Receives payment (operates cash register) for food and drinks from visitors and staff. Serves in cafeteria as required.
Sets up and serves patient trays in accordance with established schedule and procedures.
Washes and cuts vegetables and fruits according to procedures, when time permits.
Serves on tray assembly line in assigned position.
Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Environmental Services
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety environmental and infection control standards.
Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for new occupant; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms.
Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways and public areas.
Cleans fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and high areas using a ladder.
Removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers.
Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
Inspects equipment used in performance of duties for proper functioning; makes minor repairs or adjustments.
Assists in hanging drapes and dividers and takes them down for cleaning.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit care data.
Moves, removes, and relocates furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. as directed.
Sets up chairs and tables, etc. for special events and folds and stores them after the event.
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Education - High School or equivalent
Preferred Education - Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
Required License - Valid Oklahoma Drivers License
Preferred Experience - Some experience in shipping & receiving and related procedures
