· Upward Bound Summer Academy begins Tuesday, May 27th - Thursday June 26th.
· The Upward Bound Summer Academy will be as follows:
o Tuesday, May 27th- May 29th Day activities
o Sunday, June 1st - Thursday, June 5th
o Sunday, June 8th – Thursday, June 12th
o Sunday June 15th -Thursday, June 19th
o Sunday June 22n - Thursday June 26th
Annual Salary:
$1,500
Description:
The Upward Bound Program at NEO A & M College is seeking an energetic leader to work with participating high school students as Activity Director. Upward Bound is a program designed to encourage high school students to develop the academic skills and motivation necessary for success in post-secondary education. The participating Upward Bound students will live on campus during the five weeks program and attend intensive academic courses and personal developmental activities.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
· Previous experience working with high school students.
· Experience in an educational setting
· Demonstrate sensitivity to needs of economically and educationally disadvantaged youth.
· Preference to individuals who have backgrounds similar to the target population.
Job Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Provide students with various team building/leadership activities during the Upward Bound Summer Academy.
· Create, set up, and implement activities.
· Provide high impact learning to students and staff.
· Assist with creating and implementing activities for students to prepare for college.
· Additional duties as assigned by the project director.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
