Job description
We are looking for a Director of Nursing to organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility. You will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies. At the clinic, all personnel will be able to do their best in caring for patients. A director of nursing should have once been a hard-working and compassionate registered nurse who steadily developed their managerial and administrative skills. Being efficient, dedicated, a good listener and a problem-solver is what will open our door for you. The goal is to foster an excellent environment that will support everyone in working to the benefit of the clinic and patients alike.
Responsibilities
- Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (LVN's / MA's etc.)
- Oversee and manage all aspects of nursing operations within the organization.
- Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department.
- Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures.
- Develop and implement care plans for patients.
- Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards.
- Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed.
- Manage record-keeping procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations.
- Report to upper management
- Assign patients for day-to-day management to nursing coordinators and / or Nursing Supervisors / Managers
- Maintain open lines of communication with families and physicians.
- Monitors clinical status of all patients and ensures coordination of patient care.
- Monitors patient care to ensure quality and appropriateness of services.
- Ensure compliance with Nurse Practice Act
- Maintain awareness of third-party payer rules and regulations
- Maintain effective interdepartmental communication.
- Performs and provides direct patient care as appropriate and needed.
- Perform on-site supervisory visits to assess client, family, environment, and clinical care givers and complete follow-up documentation as needed.
