Description Of Position
Northeastern State University invites applications for a full time Assistant Professor/Instructor position in the
Department of Nutritional Sciences, College of Health Professions. While this position will be based on the
Tahlequah campus, responsibilities may extend to the Muskogee and Broken Arrow campuses as needed. NSU

Responsibilities
This full-time faculty position will teach courses in Dietetics/Nutrition such as, but not limited to: Nutrition
Assessment and Counseling, Community Nutrition, Life Cycle Nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy, Food Science
and Lab, Food Systems Management and Lab, Food Safety, and Geriatric Nutrition. Position requires onsite and
online teaching knowledge and skills. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate dietetic and nutrition
students, representing the program to the general public through participation in professional organizations,
scholarship, evaluation, recruitment, serving on committees and participating in official activities at the program,
department, college, and university levels, and other assigned duties. Preference will be given to candidates who
have experience and/or interest in dietetics internship programs and development. This is a 9-month position.
Experience
Minimum of three years’ experience post credentialing as a professional dietitian.
Minimum of two years’ experience in university teaching. Some education may be substituted for experience.
Research/scholarly activity a plus.
Education Requirements
Master’s degree required in Nutrition, Dietetics, or closely related field for Instructor position rank.
Doctorate required in relevant field for Assistant Professor rank and tenure track.
Registered Dietitian, licensed in the State of Oklahoma required.

Salary Commensurate With Experience Including Excellent Benefits.
If hired with only a Master’s degree, salary = $50,000 annually
If hired with a PhD, salary = $59,000 annually
