Description Of The Position
The Department of Educational Leadership at Northeastern State University invites
applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership
position in the College of Education on the Tahlequah campus. The faculty member in
this position will teach fully-online graduate courses as needed by the department in a
variety of programs such as Leadership, Instructional Leadership, Library Media, and
School Administration.
Required Responsibilities
The successful applicant's primary responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in
education, advising/mentoring graduate students, and designing, developing, and
delivering online coursework.
Other Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Developing and maintaining program assessments.
Assisting with student recruitment, interviews, and academic advising/mentoring
sessions.
Participating in program, department, and university meetings.
Developing a professional file for retention, tenure, and promotion.
Contributing to the creation of an environment that promotes growth and equality.
Publishing research, attending conferences, and delivering presentations.
Other duties expected of the rank and position.
Education
Qualified candidates will have an earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
(Terminal degree is required for a tenure track position). Candidates who are ABD in
their doctorate may be considered (salary commensurate).
Experience
The position requires pK-12 classroom teaching experience. Preferred qualifications
include experience teaching college-level online courses, particularly graduate courses,
as well as mentoring and advising graduate students. A clear research agenda, and
involvement in community service are also preferred. Candidates should have
experience with problem-based learning, utilizing various distance learning
technologies.
