Job Summary
This position plays a key role in the development, implementation, and administration of programs on campus for faculty, staff, and students that support underserved student populations. It serves as the primary advisor for several student organizations, creates and implements university-wide education and programming, interacts and engages alumni and community partners, and collaborates across the institution for recruitment, retention, and engagement of a underserved student populations. The coordinator is expected to create innovative new programs and initiatives to engage the full NSU community.
MAJOR DUTIES
Create innovate new programs and initiatives to support and engage underserved student populations on campus.
Design and implement signature programs.
Provide outreach and administrative support, including web maintenance and marketing.
Advise student organizations and outreach to student communities.
Assist with recruitment, retention, and advancement efforts for underserved student communities.
Work with Student Affairs staff to develop policies and procedures that uphold best practices.
Establish collaborative relationships with alumni and community partners
Develop and implement a strategic plan for the area that embodies the mission and values of Northeastern State.
Maintain a visible presence at University and student events and programs.
This position requires the ability to be strategic, engaging, and tactical while delivering tangible results.
Serves on University committees.
Performs related duties.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks the work as it is being done and spot-checks the completed work for compliance with established procedures, work accuracy and the nature and propriety of the final results of the work.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include department and university policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of a broad scope of responsibilities.This person must evaluate and prioritize multiple ongoing projects.Individual must interact with individuals both in and outside the university, including alumni and community partners.
The purpose of this position is to ensure educate and engage the university community along issues of supporting underserved student populations, to address university-wide needs and initiatives, and to engage and support underserved student populations, faculty and staff community, including partnering with multiple departments.

Contacts are typically with co-workers and other student affairs staff, faculty members and academic staff, parents, incoming and prospective students, community partners, current students.
Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, and to provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.
The work is typically performed in an office, library or computer room.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position may periodically oversee student workers or graduate assistants, as needed and available.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in higher education or related field.
Previous experience in policy, programming, or education.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing university wide training, education, and policy development.
Experience advising student organizations.
Previous experience in assessment practices.
Annual salary $40,824.00 with excellent benefits and generous time off.
