JOBSUMMARY
Thisposition supervises and assists in the installation, repair, and maintenance ofrefrigeration, HVAC and Plumbing systems.
MAJOR DUTIES
Plans and assigns work orders and projects.
Estimates labor and material costs for each project.
Maintains building automation systems.
Gathers estimates and purchases parts and equipment.
Maintains records of work performed.
Develops HVAC and Plumbing maintenance schedules.
Assists other personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance tasks as needed.
Maintains assigned tools and equipment.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Coordinates and oversees state mandated annual inspections for pressured vessels and equipment. (Local, State and Federal)
Supervises and participates in the installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC, Plumbing and refrigeration equipment.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of HVAC and Plumbing system installation, repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of relevant construction codes.
Knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC and Plumbing systems.
Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
Skill in the supervision of personnel.
Skill in diagnostic troubleshooting.
Skill in the operation of job-related tools, vehicles and equipment.
Skill in oral and written communication.
SUPERVISORYCONTROLS
The Facilities Maintenance Director and Assistant Directorassigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checkscompleted work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature andpropriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include international fuel gas codes,international mechanical codes, and university policies and procedures. Theseguidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY / SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied supervisory and technical duties. The variety of equipment to be maintained contributes to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to supervise and participate in the installation, repair and maintenance of university HVAC and Plumbing equipment. Success in this position results in safe and well-maintained buildings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects, climbs ladders, and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
The work is typically performed in an office or stockroom, in a variety of university buildings, and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, or irritating chemicals. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENTRESPONSIBILITY
Thisposition has direct supervision over Senior HVAC Technician, RefrigerationMechanics, Plumbing technicians and Automation technicians (10).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually an additional 3-4 years of relevant work experience service.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State / Federal requirements of position : Journeymen License and Universal EPA Refrigerant handler's certification card. (Other equivalent experience / qualifications will be considered)

Annual salary $49,740.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time
