JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of the Center for Student Involvement, the Associate Director of Student Engagement serves as a member of the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) leadership team and participates in the development and execution of the Center's programs and services. The Associate Director will provide strategic direction and support to a critical area of student involvement: student organization programming, advisement and education. The Associate Director will oversee a team consisting of one full-time Assistant Director who is responsible for a portfolio of graduate student programming, and three full-time area specialists who are all responsible for supporting the programmatic efforts of student organizations that range in size and scope as well as creating leadership development experiential opportunities. The Associate Director will work closely with these staff members, students, and campus partners to execute the vision for University signature events such as Summester, Fall Fest, Homecoming, SpringFest, Relay for Life, Academic Year Excursions, and the Student Life Awards. Successful administration of these events must promote accessibility through various technologies in addition to in-person components. This position will lead initiatives centered on virtual platforms to improve global access to signature programming. This position serves as a primary department liaison to various key stakeholders, including Athletics, City & Community Engagement, Facilities, and NUPD, among others.

Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional interpersonal, organizational, verbal/written communication skills as are developed skills and knowledge of social media platforms and techniques.
- Able to work collaboratively and be able to make sound decisions independently.
- Knowledge and skills required for this poisition are normally obtained through a Master's degree in higher education/student affairs or equivalent is required in addition to 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in student activities, major event management and leadership development.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience supervising full-time staff.
- Student Leader/Organization Education & Development: In collaboration with CSI staff members, develop and facilitate educational opportunities for student leaders (both executive members of organizations and general NU population).
- Student Organization Programming and Advisement Supervision: Supervise, train and evaluate one full-time Assistant Director and three full-time area specialists. Oversee the program development process for more than 500 student organizations and 900 events per year. Provide extensive support and strategic direction for university signature events from conception to execution, including a portfolio specific to the graduate student population .
- Global Network student engagement: In collaboration with the Director, serve as a lead CSI liaison in cross-campus collaborations to make engagement opportunities available to the larger Northeastern global network of campus locations.
- Other Duties and Logistics: Consistently review and increase the Center's use of technology to improve customer service and student development, including the exploration and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI). Seek innovative strategies to engage our globally distributed student body. Other duties as assigned.
- Program Management: Provide event planning support to student organizations and serve as a team member within the administrative work flow. Meet with students and student organizations to develop a vision and budgets for their events.
